Where the Wild Things Run
511,000 Utahns, which equates to 1 in 6 individuals, are at risk of missing a meal today. Even more alarming is that 1 in 5 Utah kids are unsure where their next meal is coming from.
Friends, Family. As we drift into the holiday season of Thanksgiving and Hallmark Movies I have been trying to think what the holidays mean to me. This year of challenges has effected us all, and I could not let the it go by without finding a way to bring some real good into it.
My team "Where the Wild Things Run" will represent the Iron County Care and Share. The proceeds raised will go to the Utah Food Bank where The Care and Share as well as other partner programs around the State of Utah benefit.
"Annually, we feed 750-800 unique households. YTD 1,150 unique households. Monthly food boxes, weekly pantry bags, and camper's specials for those living in homelessness. We estimate there are 75-100 people living in homelessness, in Iron County."
If you are able to, please register and participate in this Human Race. I am hoping this event can bring us together & bring food to the tables of homes hit hardest by the trials of this year.
Please consider being a part of our team to help Utah Food Bank continue their important work of Fighting Hunger Statewide. You can complete your 5K or 10K however, wherever and with whomever you want, any time between November 1st and November 27th. Then, submit your reults online to see how you did!

Thank you for your support!
Founded in 1904, Utah Food Bank has operated under various names but has always remained true to their mission of Fighting Hunger Statewide. 511,000 Utahns are at risk of missing a meal today. Even more alarming is that 1 in 5 Utah kids are unsure where their next meal is coming from. Last year, they distributed 52.9 million pounds of food, the equivalent of 44.1 million meals, to people facing hunger across the state. Utah Food Bank can stretch each $1 donated into $8.03 worth of goods and services. To find out more about donating food, time or money, please visit http://www.utahfoodbank.org.
