382,000 Utahns, which equates to 1 in 8 Utahns, are at risk of missing a meal today. Even more alarming is that 1 in 7 Utah kids are unsure where their next meal is coming from.
We are participating in Utah Food Bank’s annual Utah Human Race on Thanksgiving Day because we feel that no child should have to go to bed hungry in Utah, especially on Thanksgiving.
It’s family-friendly and costumes are even encouraged! People of all ages and abilities can participate in a variety of ways, so there’s no excuse not to! Join us in Draper on Thanksgiving morning (11/28) to make some room for that extra slice of pumpkin pie.
Please consider being a part of our team to help Utah Food Bank continue their important work of Fighting Hunger Statewide. If you can’t participate on the day of the event, you can always support our efforts by donating directly to our team.
Founded in 1904, Utah Food Bank has operated under various names but has always remained true to their mission of Fighting Hunger Statewide. 382,000 Utahns, which equates to 1 in 8 Utahns, are at risk of missing a meal today. Even more alarming is that 1 in 7 Utah kids are unsure where their next meal is coming from. Last year, they distributed over 43.3 million pounds of food, the equivalent of over 36.1 million meals, to people facing hunger across the state. Utah Food Bank can stretch each $1 donated into $7.34 worth of goods and services. To find out more about donating food, time or money, please visit http://www.utahfoodbank.org.
