I Love Food
Everyone loves food, especially on Thanksgiving. But for far too many people in Utah, this love of food is unrequited.
In fact, 392,000 Utahns, which equates to 1 in 8 Utahns, are at risk of missing a meal today. Just as alarming is that 1 in 6 Utah kids are unsure where their next meal is coming from.
Our team I Love Food is participating in Utah Food Bank’s 13th annual Utah Human Race on Thanksgiving Day because we feel that no one should be without food in Utah, especially on Thanksgiving.
It’s a family-friendly event and costumes are encouraged! People of all ages and abilities can participate in a variety of ways. Join us in Draper on Thanksgiving morning (11/22) to make some room for that extra slice of seagull pie.
Please consider joining our team to help the Utah Food Bank continue their important work of Fighting Hunger Statewide. If you can’t participate on the day of the event, you can always support our efforts by donating directly to our team. Thank you for whatever help you can provide.
Founded in 1904, Utah Food Bank has operated under various names but has always remained true to their mission of Fighting Hunger Statewide. 392,000 Utahns, which equates to 1 in 8 Utahns, are at risk of missing a meal today. Even more alarming is that 1 in 6 Utah kids are unsure where their next meal is coming from. Last year, they distributed over 39.2 million pounds of food, the equivalent of over 32.7 million meals, to people facing hunger across the state. Utah Food Bank can stretch each $1 donated into $7.48 worth of goods and services. To find out more about donating food, time or money, please visit http://www.utahfoodbank.org.
